Winter 2026-27 Athletics Registration

Dear Pearl River Community,

We are excited to announce the start dates and registration information for High School and Middle School Sports (7th and 8th Grade) for the Winter 2026-2027  season.

Registration

High School registration dates:

10/16/2026- 11/16/2026

High School Athletics Registration

Middle School ( Modified) registration dates:

10/30/2026- 11/30/2026

Middle School Athletics Registration

All registration must be completed through our online platform, FamilyID. Late registrations will not be accepted.

Start Dates:

High School Sports:

Varsity and JV will start Monday, November 16th, 2026

Middle School Sports (Modified Sports,7th and 8th grade) will start on:

Monday, November 30th, 2026. 

Physicals
Please note that NYSPHSAA now requires a physical exam dated within one calendar year of the sports start date.

A current physical for Varsity and JV fall sports must be dated on or after November 16th,2025.

A current physical for Modified fall sports must be dated on or after November 30th 2025. 

All new physicals should be completed on the new NYS School Health Examination Form.

School Physician Dates

Dr. Padre will be in on Tuesday November 10th at 7:40am, at the HS nurses office for those in 8th-12th grade.

Dr. Padre will be in on Tuesday, November 24th at the Middle School at 7:45am, for those in 7th grade.

ONLY students playing Winter sports who still need a physical can schedule a health exam with Dr. Padre on those dates.

Athletic Placement Process

As outlined in BOE Policy 5270 and Regulations 5270-R.1 and 5270-R.2 7th graders may be invited by their Coach to try out for certain sports at the Varsity level. These sports are: Boys Swimming, Boys or Girls Bowling, or Indoor Track. Students that have been invited by their Coach will need to get the Athletic Placement paperwork from the coach.  Please make sure you have an updated physical on file, a coaches recommendation and parent/guardian permission form signed. 

8th graders, who have been invited to try out for a Varsity, JV, or Freshman team this Winter will need to get the Athletic Placement paperwork from the coach who is inviting them. Please make sure you have an updated physical on file, a coaches recommendation and parent/guardian permission form signed.
