  • New 988 Three-Digit National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Number

988 is the new, three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) available nationwide. This number serves as a direct connection to caring support for anyone in mental health distress. This may include thoughts of suicide, substance use crisis and/or emotional distress. 988 is a free service available to any and everyone. By contacting 988 by chat, text or phone, individuals will be connected to a trained crisis counselor. Interpretation services are available in over 150 languages.

Pearl River School District aims to ensure that our school community is informed of the resources available to anyone who is in need of an immediate connection to highly-trained, local crisis counselors that provide emotional support and assistance for behavioral health crisis and suicide prevention, as well as connections to services in the community for needed support and recovery.
